Quartzpeople

Put me in a hot, sweaty, dark club then put a few lights on every now and then and away we go. This is dance music that is full of highs and lows, with a thumping kick drum and analog pulses. This is hot summer music. 'Berlin' is my favorite with its thick syth punctuating big beats and congas - with cascading frequencies like broken crystal. Turn the volume up and listen.

Quartzpeople is a revelation that was created after the unification of Dj/producer Rafi Levin and musician Vitor Fernandez in Amsterdam, circa 2007.

Both graduates of SAE Amsterdam Audio Department, Vitor and Rafi connected through their fascination with the precision, proficiency and ability of studio equipment to sync together and perform on another level. They yearned to apply the same concept to their music in their effort to synchronize with their audience.

Estonian-born DJ/producer Rafi Levin is constantly raising the bar for electronica deejays, spinning a unique, hybrid of powerful, progressive end electro house. Within the electronic music industry, Rafi has developed a reputation as a successful DJ and promoter.

Rafi’s resume consists of fore fronting some of the best promotional teams, including Nerve, Steam and The Marlin. He has graced the decks of countless hot spots across USA including Boston’s The Roxy, Highlands in Los Angeles, Atlanta’s Compound, South Beach’s Rain, Nerve, Steam, Blue and Pawn Shop as well as many more.

Rafi collaborates with many respected artists in the business, ranging from Paolo Mojo, DHM, and Frankie Bones. Currently residing in Amsterdam, Netherlands, Rafi continues to produce tracks with Aquabooty, DHM, DJ Booggee, and Vitaly.

Vitor Fernandes was born in Portugal in 1984. Currently living in Amsterdam, Netherlands, Vitor has excelled as an artist through his talents in the keyboard, drums, guitar, as well as his skills in producing, DJing, and audio engineering. Vitor aspires to apply his knowledge and experience within the standard of Quartzpeople by creating a mixture of Analog and Digital performances.

Growing from the grunge band trend in Portugal, Vitor has developed his passion for Rock n Roll, Death and Trash Metal as well as instrumental ambiences. The Psy Tech and the Rave scenne, changed his life and its way of looking into sound, Chill-out music and Rock-n-Roll are now on a hold.

Vitor finished his Bachelors of Recording Arts at Middle Sex University. Vitor now works with multiple projects including Psychedelic Rock n Roll Projects, chillout projects, Psy trance cooperation’s with other known artists, and he is developing a new trend under the Electronic music scenne with Rafi Levin under the Quartzpeople project / Label.

  3. although you must understand that this is not Trance, Trance goes at 140 bpm and up, we are playing at 125 up to 130.

So take a better look at the review were you mention Trance as our Genre.

  5. "the beat fascist police", that is a strong word to be using here, by the person in charge of posting! do you even heard the difference between Progressive, Electro, House and Trance? I mean we are definitely not Tiesto, and if you mean Trance as Psy trance well then you are terribly confused with your reviews... Peter!

    :)
