Released on Amazon?

The music industry has been destroyed by this something for nothing culture, with albums being given away for free. Read more...

We are in the process of helping to re-design http://www.m4tr.co.uk. There are plans to incorporate a section dedicated to independent artist who have released their music on iTunes, Amazon etc. We have become increasingly aware of the bias 'mainstream acts have on all commercial download sites. If you send m4tr your Amazon and iTunes links to your release(s) they will incorporate into a dedicated section on their site.

Contact them via M4tr.co.uk or below.

The Caulfield Sisters - Two Songs from Mohawk

American Laundromat Records announces the release of “Two Songs from Mohawk by The Caulfield Sisters” a digital single featuring two newly recorded tracks by Brooklyn-based all-girl trio The Caulfield Sisters.

Big guitars and bass  - recorded the way they should be - raw and distorted with great vocals over the top, created and produced in a home studio -  a very fab drum sound! These tracks can be  found exclusively on iTunes. I recommend you get them!

“Caterwauling” and “I See Your Face” are the first new original tracks from The Caulfield Sisters since their critically-acclaimed debut CD-EP “Say It With Fire” was released several years back. Both tracks were recorded and produced by The Caulfield Sisters at front-woman Cindy Wheeler’s house in the Catskills (New York). Mastering was done by Sean Glonek (Tanya Donelly, Kristin Hersh, Frank Black, OK Go) at SRG Studios in New Jersey.

The Caulfield Sisters are:

Cindy Wheeler: Vocals, Guitar
Mary Guidera: Bass, Backing Vocals
Kristin Mueller: Drums

The Caulfield Sisters are a critically praised independent band based in Brooklyn, NY, noted at times for their sonic similarity to Throwing Muses or Galaxie 500. They have appeared at the annual CMJ music marathon, were featured in the New York art magazine Esopus, and were named one of “NYC’s 10 Bands to Watch” by Time Out New York magazine. The Caulfield Sisters debut CD-EP “Say It With Fire” was a stunning release that enjoyed critical acclaim, many months as a favorite on the CMJ charts, and earned them invitations to perform live on KEXP as well as opening shows for bands such as Interpol.

Fault Finders - Blindsight Records

Fault Finders is the side project of founding Monday Morning Sun members, which slips into the realms of electronica, shoegaze and dark pop, with a very big toe dipping into sadness and melancholy.

How fab is the bass on ' Stay The Same' ?! Fantastic track. Joy Division meets And Also The Trees but...sounds unique at the same time - What a find!

A debut EP has just been released as donations-only download and full length album in the pipeline which includes a cover of Nico’s “Frozen Warnings”. Download available here.

Released 10 January 2011
Umair Chaudhry - Vocals, guitar, programming
Marco Ruggiero - Vocals, bass

This is what Blindsight Records said:

Debut EP from Monday Morning Sun members Umair & Marco, treading a more electronic / pop path with swirling guitars. Two remixes featuring Nick Hudson and Misfit Mod are included, as well as the track "Stay The Same" from forthcoming full length album.

West Buckland Festival

Sorry we have been a bit quiet this month but...We have been working hard on this year's West Buckland Festival - it is going to be bigger and better than last year, with a contract signed with a 'real' International Star from the late 1970's.

We have had interest from unsigned bands to play (see comment ). We haven't got plans to extend the festival this year but if there is interest then maybe it is something the committee might consider  for next time. Please leave a comment either here or on the festival website if you have an opinion.
